Poor Fisherman Short Story 

Hada

This is a short story of 20-year-old Hada who live is in Gwadar, Pakistan and belong to Poor fishermen family. Hada is the main member of his family because after the death of his father, being an eldest son of his family, lots of responsibility came on his shoulders.

 Hada always goes to sea by his small handmade Plastic Barrel Boat and earn their daily livelihood. He goes nearby sea and catches small fishes and sell them. Whatever he earns from sea he goes to shop to buy rice, bread and other cooking related things.

 They are very poor. If a day sea work remains weak then they face lots of difficulties to fulfill their daily livelihood. Due to this Hada is working hard to earn so that their family members not face any obstacle.

Hada is going to sea.

Hada’s Daily Routine

Hada always sleeps earlier at night and also wake up early in the Morning he wakes up around at five o clock in the morning after get up wear sea cloth and takes fishing equipment then directly go to hotel for breakfast he also takes some food with him for lunch at sea. He usually goes by as own Plastic Barrel Boat but sometime if weather is windy or not adjustable then he has to go with other sailor in deep water fishing with big boat but mostly he prefers to his own small boat for fishing in low water.

After return from sea he takes rest and in evening time he goes to take tea and meet his friends at (karimok hotel) one of the oldest hotel of Gwadar city, also situated near seaside. He sits at hotel till sunset time where he and his friends discuss their daily sea work.

Hade came from sea pulling out fishes from Net.

Hada said Fishing has No Timetable.

he said fishing has no timetable it depends on fishing season sea work is 24 hours work because sometimes has to go at earlier, sometimes evening, and sometime midnight, therefore sea work has no timetable.

Fishing is not a child play Job

Hada said fishing in sea is not a child play job, it’s an extremely hard work and lots of struggle and experience need, but he said I have learned all work and experience since my childhood. Because my father and forefather were fishermen so I am working since my childhood.

 He said a seaman must know about the surface of water, sea-level, Wind direction, ripple, swimming, diving and especially place where fishing to be caught because The right location is the most important part of fishing. He said there are several ways to catch fishes. it depends on fishing season some fishes to be caught with Fishing Line and Hook and some to be caught by Fishing Nets but I am doing both fishing. I see the season of fishing then take that related equipment of fishing.

Had said whenever I go for Fishing Line with hook, I take fresh bait because fresh bait eye-catching in bottom of water. First I take fishing Line, a sinker and a hook make them node each other then I take fresh bait to trap on hook.  there are variety of hooks. it is one of the great skilled that which hook is needed for targeted fish. When I drop the Fishing Line into water then I have to be ready of Technique because when fish bites the bait, I directly pull fishing Line in a method that fish stuck in hook.  It is necessary that someone must know the technique of fishing otherwise fishes take away the several baits from Hook. Fishing need lots of tolerance because during fishing it takes lots of time to wait therefore it need lots of patience.

We are still using the ancient technique of fishing since our forefather used some changes came in Net fishing but overall same old method is being used.

Hada wish

Hada is big wish to buy a big boat to go for deep water fishing and catch lots of big fishes he is optimistic that one day he will be owner of a big boat.
